Precision cleaning after the disgorging process
Whatever the type and “pedigree”, sparkling wine needs to be disgorged after the riddling process. A small amount of wine containing sediment will escape before flowing down the length of the bottle.
For over 30 years, our work has been focused solely on the development and manufacturing of bottle washers and dryers, and we are continuously refining our machines.
With their cutting-edge technology, our machines ensure the thorough cleaning of champagne and other sparkling wine bottles, which is so important after the disgorging process. The transition from metal caps to corks requires particular attention, in particular, to ensure effective brushing of the bottom of the bottle.
Strategic action at two key stages
Generally, our washers are designed for use at two crucial stages: during the disgorging process, and after a prolonged period of storage, just before labelling. This process ensures that all bottles will exit the machine in flawless condition, i.e. thoroughly clean with a perfect surface finish.
To achieve this, we apply our extensive expertise and experience to perform a precise analysis of the degree of soiling of your bottles. We are accustomed to assessing all the criteria that affect the precise sizing of your future washer-dryer (samples of your bottles, location and duration of storage, etc.).
Our goal is to deliver a machine that meets 100% of your needs, which is not oversized (to avoid additional cost, excess energy consumption, etc.) but remains scalable.
Whether or not you use screen-printed bottles must also be taken into account as this requires technical customisation to guarantee perfect results without any risk of damaging the bottles.
Similarly, careful consideration will be given to the choice of brushes (shape, selection and combination of fibres, etc.), and particularly the brushes used for the corks and bottoms of bottles.
Not washing bottles after the disgorging process is not the best idea. From experience, we know that this will involve having to purchase an oversized washer to prepare bottles for labelling.
Water recycling tank and our environmental commitment
STENTZ washers can all be fitted with a recycling tank, which dramatically reduces the water consumption required to wash sparkling wine bottles.
Operating on a closed-circuit basis, the STENTZ water recycling tank reduces water consumption by almost tenfold.
What’s more, STENTZ washers can be equipped with an automatic machine cleaning system at the end of the cycle: brush cleaning, nozzle descaling, etc.
Perfect drying of bottles, ready for labelling
Generally used before the labelling process, our dryers ensure complete drying of bottles, from top to bottom, using nozzles that blow out hot air. This heat is produced through air compression, thus avoiding the need for electrical resistors.
Another feature that highlights our commitment to the environment.
STENTZ dryers incorporate a smart management system for unforeseen events: in the event of a sudden stoppage, the turbines partially shutdown, for easier, faster and more efficient resumption of production.
At STENTZ, the energy performance of our dryers is vitally important to us and we constantly strive to improve their efficiency. For this reason, our turbines can be fitted with variable speed drives to regulate their operation and minimise energy consumption.
STENTZ bottle dryers with output speeds of over 3,000 bottles per hour are fitted with PLCs with 10-inch touchscreens. We can incorporate either Siemens or Schneider PLCs independently, in line with your requirements.
In terms of connectivity and remote maintenance, STENTZ machines are ahead of the game. They are equipped with routers for easy integration into your wired network, or for wireless connection via WiFi or 4G.

Quality commitment and after-sales service
At STENTZ, we manage the entire process of design, manufacture and production of our drying and washing solutions internally, including machining and automation. This approach means that we can be highly responsive and meet all your specific needs.
All of our machines are entirely developed, assembled and manufactured at our site in Alsace. This centralisation of our business guarantees the impeccable quality and reliability of all our products, with one machine dispatched per week on average.
We assume full responsibility for the installation of our equipment, whether directly by our own teams or via local partners, depending on the circumstances.
To guarantee availability and rapid delivery (24/48 hours) of wearing parts and consumables, we keep substantial inventory at our premises. During the design phase, considerable work is carried out upstream to standardise components, thereby reducing the number of products held in stock whilst ensuring optimal responsiveness.
